FIFA 18 demo: What teams you can play as, UK release date and how to download on Xbox One and PS4

Cristiano Ronaldo

Arguably the biggest game of the year comes out this month and everyone will get a chance to play it before it comes out

It’s that time of year for gamers to dust off their broken controllers, throw away their Friday nights and lose at a computer game to a kid half their age.

Yes, that’s right folks, FIFA 18 is coming out!

And with the game’s release less than a month away it can only mean one thing – the demo is soon upon us.

Regarding the game itself, we know that Cristiano Ronaldo is the game’s cover star, The Journey will be returning for a sequel and that EA has promised to get even more out of the Frostbite engine.

And here’s what we know about the demo…

When the is the FIFA 18 demo out?

15 September.

How and where can I download it?

The demo will be on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo Switch – and will be available to download from each console’s respective stores.

How long will it take to download?

That will depend on your internet speed. The demo size will likely be between 7-8GB which is by all means a hefty size. And if you’re downloading it on the release date, along with everyone else, the servers will be slower than usual.

What’s in the demo?

As with all FIFA demos you will likely be able to play a 90 minute game with a small pool of teams.

This year’s sides are: Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich, PSG, LA Galaxy and Toronto FC.

Last year’s demo also let you play Alex Hunter’s first game in The Journey, it’s likely EA will offer a similar experience for its sequel.

When is the full game out?

29 September
