The Mexican model that triumphed in New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week

A tapatía model became the news when walking exclusively for the New York firm Proenza Schouler. We tell you everything about her.

The Proenza Schouler parade unveiled a collection full of graphic prints, cut-outs dresses and chandelier style earrings with a very contemporary twist for spring 2017. But not only did it draw attention to its sartorial proposals, it also stood out for presenting A fresh face on the runway: Mariana Zaragoza, the 16-year-old katana who walked exclusively for the signing of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

Walking exclusively represents a special and coveted recognition among the models since it can lead to other projects with that signature. Such is the case of Bella Hadid, who during the day of autumn 2016 of Paris Fashion Week only paraded for Givenchy. Shortly after we saw her star in the campaign of the French firm. Is it the same for Mariana with Proenza Schouler? What has allowed him is a particular distinction of the rest of the Mexican models, as well as Elsa Benítez and Issa Lish.

Before Mariana became known internationally, it was a constant on the catwalks of Mexican firms like Kris Goyri, Mancandy, Alexia Ulibarri. In November of 2014 also was part of the list that paraded for the collection spring-summer 2015 that Carolina Herrera presented in Mexico. Its elongated figure and surprising features make it the next bet in Mexican modeling. We expect more news from Mariana soon.
